A great late record from Jan & Dean – with songs that are centered around a rainy theme that's touched by sadness and darkness – a strange setting for the sunny Jan & Dean vibe, but it's one that works really well! The behind-the-scenes story is fascinating here – as Jan Berry was recovering from a horrible car crash, Dean Torrence was left to run the show. Given that terrible situation, the sounds of thunder and rainfall in mix – not to mention the overall theme – is all quite befitting, but the sweeter, lighter vibe ultimately shines through! The production and arrangements are incredible, with members of Phil Spector's Wrecking Crew playing on it – and the tracks include "Yellow Balloon", "Here Comes The Rain", "Pocket Full Of Rainbows", "When Sunny Get's Blue", "Like A Summer Rain", "Raindrops", "Crying In The Rain", "Taste Of Rain" and "Save A Rainy Day Theme".
