Massive funk from the Blue Note vaults -- a batch of tracks that are easily some of the most-sampled numbers in the catalog of the legendary label! There's a simple, elegant brilliance to most tracks here -- nothing fancy, just straightforward grooves that mix together perfect beats, pristine production, and some wicked instrumental flourishes that really send the whole thing home! The compilers have done a good job of spreading the groove past the typical Idris Muhammad-driven beats -- although there's still some of those here too, as you couldn't have a set like this without Idris at the kit!
