Los Miticos Del Ritmo
CD (Item 612946) Soundway (UK), 2012 — Condition: New Copy
The first-ever new recording on the Soundway label – and a honey of a session produced by Quantic at his Colombian studios! The sound here is very classic – raw percussion, sharp-edged saxes, and even a bit of accordion from Quantic himself – all wrapped up in a blend that's a mix of older Colombian modes with some slightly more offbeat touches – not just in the way the instrumentation is used, but in the choice of music, too. The set features covers of material by Michael Jackson and Queen – but it's far from gimmicky, as it's got lots of original numbers too – really great music that evokes a time past, but with a 21st Century ear – that great sense of new appreciation for Latin cultures that we've been getting from groove diggers of late! Titles include "Fabiola", "Noche De Tamborito", "Cumbia De Mochilla", "Willy's Merengue", "Samaria", "Otro Muerde El Polvo", "Satta Massa Cumbia", and "No Pares Hasta Tener Lo Suficiente". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
