Jefferson
LP (Item 475519) Janus, Early 70s — Condition: Very Good+
Very groovy pop from the one-named Jefferson – a set that boasts some especially swinging production from the legendary John Schroeder! The style here is very much at the peak of Brit pop for the time – sung with a bit of warble on Jefferson's vocals, and supported by some bouncy arrangements from Lew Warburton that are really great – soaring and compressed, but not in the smoother style of later 70s UK pop – and still with the best sort of edge we love from more familiar English work of this sort. Titles are very well chosen – and include Alan Hawkshaw's "Love & The World Loves With You" – plus "Montage From How Sweet It Is", "Give A Little Love", "I Fell Flat On My Face", "Baby Take Me In Your Arms", and "City Girl". (Cover has a bit of light wear.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | ||||||
