Ritmos Y Cantos Callejeros
CD (Item 411048) Ansonia, 1970 — Condition: New Copy
The cover alone should be enough to tell you this is a cooker – as Cortijo and Kako go head to head on heavy percussion, working a heavy traditional groove despite the later date of the album! Rhythms are strongly in the plena and bomba modes – with timbales and congas dominating, as well as plenty of chorus vocals from Chivirico Davila, Gilberto Cruz, and Ismael Rivera – a great lineup who really help the record cook! The album's a great lost groover from the tail end of the 60s – and titles include "Chiviriquiton", "Yo No Bailo Con Juana", "Maria Teresa", "Compay Sapo", "Alegria Bomba Es", and "Que Le Paso". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
