The funkiest entry so far in the excellent Shapes series from Tru Thoughts -- and a great illustration of the deeper grooves the label's been exploring in recent years! The collection is a great overview of some of the best beats, basslines, and vocals coming out of Tru Thoughts and related Zebra Traffic of late -- work very much in the sway of the Quantic style, but also featuring a good deal of influence from Alice Russell, Nostalgia 77, and others! And if that's not enough, the price on this one is mighty nice -- lower than most import 12" singles, but filled with a full spectrum of 15 tracks -- a much-appreciated musical bargain in these troubled times!
