CD (Item 620434) Odeon/Bomba (Japan), 1982 — Condition: New Copy

Compelling work from Egberto Gismonti – working here in a largely electronic basis, and using a host of keyboards to weave complicated soundscapes that are a great extension of his arrangements from the early and mid 70s! By that, we mean the sound is nicely complicated at points, yet still soars with a heck of a lot of spirit – that unique blend of Brazilian roots, jazz fusion, and more complicated expressive modes that made Gismonti one of the best talents of his generation on the Brazilian scene! The production comes through really well for the keyboards – none of those too-tinny styles that could mar American efforts like this of the time – and titles include "Palacio De Espelhos", "Sagracao", "Assum", "Fado", "Carnaval De Rua", "2 Violes", and "Para John E Paco".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
