Jazz & Milk Breaks EP 3Various
LP (Item 490224) Jazz & Milk (Germany), 2009 -- Condition: New Copy
Jazz, milk, and plenty of breaks -- a really great little set that almost blows away the previous entries in the series! All tunes here have some roots in older grooves -- modal, Latin, or soul jazz -- but the execution of the music is definitely contemporary -- hip production and a few dancefloor elements thrown in for good measure, although always in ways that are spare enough to maintain the jazz in the grooves, and an overall classic vibe -- although the mix is one that we might say links the classic styles of the 70s with some of the best funky dancefloor modes of the early 90s, with all the fresh excitement that first made us start digging import discs for grooves so many years ago. Titles include "Contonou Caravan" by Greenwood Rhythm Coalition, "Do What" by The Jivers, "El Boom" by The Snip, "Manteca" by Cesar's Salad, "You Can Dance (Envee Ensemble version)" by Pinnawela, and "The Journey Ghana 74 (rmx by Dusty)" by The Boogoos. © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
