Philly Soul Vol 1Various
CD (Item 27287) Philly Archives, Mid 60s — Condition: New Copy
A must for harmony soul fans! This CD compiles a host of excellent lost 60s group sides from Philly – including a huge amount you won't ever be able to find on wax! Most of the material was produced by a young Phil Gaber, and the focus here is on mellow soul and hard raw harmonies, a side of the Philly scene that's rarely been documented on other reissues. There's a total of 23 cuts in all – and the CD's got nice notes on the groups on the set. Features "Trouble", "You Were Meant For Me", and "You're Everything" by The Agents; "Really Really Love You", "Precious", and "Thanks To You" by Ronnie Walker; One Heart" by the Emanons; "Say Yes" by the Enkays; "Goodbye Baby" by the Temptones; "The Look In Their Eyes" by The Exceptions; "This Is Magic" by The Ballads; and "Guess I'll Never Understand" by Fletcher Walker III. Great stuff – with a perfect east coast harmony sound! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
