Bootsy Collins' first solo album as a leader – and a masterpiece of slow bassy funk that set the tone for countless other groups to come! Bootsy steps into the spotlight with a tremendous amount of confidence and personality on the record – emerging as the one real star that could shine brightly on its own in the P-Funk galaxy – oozing personality, sexuality, and super-funky grooves throughout! George Clinton's helping Bootsy out on production a bit, and the rest of the P-Funk regulars are in the group as well – but the album's clearly Bootsy's own, and takes mainstream funk into a whole new sound – one that would really set a high bar for much of the west coast scene in years to come! Includes the massive "I'd Rather Be With You" – plus "Physical Love", "Love Vibes", and "Psychoticbumpschool". (Cover has some wear, large splash stains on the front and back, and some sticker residue.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

This Boot Is Made For Fonk-N
Warner, 1979. Near Mint-
Bootsy's still keeping the P-Funk flag flying high at the end of the 70s – arguably stepping out here with a sound that's got more of the Parliafunkadelicment elements intact than some of George Clinton's other spinoff groups! The tracks are long, and plenty jamming – still with plenty ... LP, Vinyl record album

Send It
Warner, 1977. Very Good
Excellent work from Ashford & Simpson – with some modern soul groovers that are among the best they ever did! The album includes their original reading of "Top Of The Stairs", a great sexy soul duet that was later done by Collins & Collins – and it's also got a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Blue Magic
Atco, 1974. Very Good
The start of a tremendous run from Blue Magic – easily one of the greatest harmony groups of the 70s, a quintet we'd place in a rare class with heavy hitters like The Stylistics or The Moments! The album's smooth and sweet, but never slick – perfectly arranged by the great Norman ... LP, Vinyl record album

Al Green Is Love
Hi Records, 1975. Very Good+
Heavenly soul doesn't get any more heavenly than this! Al's at the height of his powers here, and even though there aren't as many hits on the record, it's still got plenty of nice moments, and the usual stone cold Hi Records soul groove that works beautifully with Green's warmly compressed vocals. ...
