Utopia
LP (Item 75628) Columbia, 1983 — Condition: Used
A sweet sweet groover from Enchantment – and a record that may well be the group's greatest moment in the 80s! There's a tightness here that goes beyond the sound of Enchantment in previous years – yet the sound is also still pretty underground too – more electro soul than chart R&B, thanks to excellent use of keyboards and basslines – and a strong focus on the kind of heavy bottom groove that kept these guys spinning strong on the dancefloors, even when they weren't cracking radio as much. A few mellower numbers recall their great strength with a ballad – and show that their vocals can still open up beautifully when needed – and the whole thing's got a well-balanced groove that's kept the record strong for years. Titles include "Here's Your Chance", "Give It Up", "Come Be My Lover", "Don't Fight The Feeling", "I'm Dreaming", and "Gotta Find A Love". (Cover has ring & edge wear, and a promo stamp on the back.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
