A great little set of grooves – and different than a lot of the other Italian comps we've stocked! This one features work from three sound library sources – Ivan Basilio/Alessandro Alessandroni, The Pawnshop (featuring Eraldo Volonte), and Joy Unlimited, a band who was known more for their proggy rock, but who check in fine here with some nice funky numbers from 1972! There's a lot of guitar interplay in the tracks – from mod groovy 60s guitar, to spacey sitar, to slick electric funky bass – and although a lot of the tracks are funky, there's about an equal emphasis on melody and rhythm. Titles include "Blower", "Swoop", "Breeding Ground", "Bass String", "Black Spot", "Soul Gravy", and "Lotus" – and yes, they're all as great as they sound!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Plastic (Italy), 1960s. New Copy
Kind of crazy – but that's what we've come to expect from the Plastic label! The set's a wild batch of Latin-tinged jazzers from the De Wolfe sound library studios – and it features a nice twist on the usual set of funky lost studio classics! There's a lot of cuts on here we've never ... LP, Vinyl record album

There's a weird and wonderful assortment of styles on this old sound library session from the 70s – a hip blend of electronics, keyboards, guitar, and percussion – all served up in some mighty cool modes from Daniela Casa! The music is moody at points, but often quite rhythmic – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Heritage (Belgium), 1972. New Copy (reissue)
If you can forgive the title of this one, you'll find it to be a very groovy record! The album's a killer batch of funky instrumentals ("black sound") recorded in Italy in 1972 by Augusto Martelli ("white people") – and it's got the groove and swing of some of the best ... LP, Vinyl record album
Finders Keepers (UK), 1970s/Early 80s. New Copy
Heavy electro work from Suzanne Ciani – an artist who peaked a bit later than some of her sound library contemporaries – which means she was able to contribute music experimental films, record productions, and video games – and not just the usual mainstream outlets! Ciani's ... LP, Vinyl record album

The incredible drums and Rhodes-heavy jazz dance album from composer Thom Janusz – made in collaboration with NYC dancer, choreographer and company leader Ronn Forella – possibly the funkest, best and hardest-to-find album ever released by the Hoctor label! Ostensibly a hip 70s dance ... LP, Vinyl record album

Finders Keepers/Cache Cache (UK), 1978. New Copy
Two rare soundtracks from the quirky Bruno Spoerri – both of them a very cool blend of jazzy reeds and lots of electric touches! Teddy Bear is from the early 80s, and is one of the later records we've heard from Spoerri – a set that definitely bears the pedigree of its time, through ... LP, Vinyl record album
Contour, 1975. New Copy (reissue)
Nice funky 70s instrumentals, composed by Alan Tew, and performed by the group Bullet – a hip electric combo with a tight sound library feel. The overall style reminds us of Lalo Schifrin or Quincy Jones cop show work from the early 70s – with some tasty keyboards, plenty of riffing, ... LP, Vinyl record album
