Turn On The Sunlight
CD (Item 606732) Disques Corde (Japan), 2010 — Condition: Used
Some of the most gently crafted and most psychedelic folk flavored material we've heard to date from the ever eclectic, always worthwhile oeuvre of Carlos Nino – working here as a duo with multi-instrumentalist Jesse Peterson! Carlos and Jesse have worked together before, on the High With A Little Help From My Friends album, but the vibe hear is more forthrightly psych folk – acoustic guitar, be it plaintive and direct or layered and atmospheric – with vocals often prominent in the mix, it's a real song based effort. It's excellent stuff, surely influenced by the leftfield, freewheeling folk rock of the late 60s through early 70s, but with a timeless, exploratory vibe of its own. Includes "Turn On The Sunlight", "Always Enough, Oh Magnificent Nature", "La Rima Del Mar", "Sonar (Wall Of Hearers)", "Requiem For Lois", "Dream Beams", "Love Chant", "Blue Sky Writing", "Big Sur Foghorn" and more. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
