A brilliant solo debut from Tuomo -- a singer we know from his work with the Finnish group Quintessence, stepping out here in even more soulful territory on his own! Tuomo's got a warmly raspy sound that's all-classic, all the way -- a unique voice that could well become one of our favorites from overseas in recent years -- often made even better by the album's solidly soulful backings, which usually feature some heavy congas at the bottom, alongside heavy keyboards and guitar -- in ways that almost remind us of early 70s productions on Curtom Records! This guy's easily one of the best blue-eyed soul singers to emerge in the past decade -- and we've got hopes that this debut takes him all the great places he deserves to go.
