Tension – Spanish Experimental Underground 1980 to 1985Various

A wealth of wonderful work we've never heard before – rare post-punk material from the Spanish scene of the early 80s! Spanish groups didn't circulate nearly as much as British, French, and German acts of the time – which kept the scene intensely local at the time – even though the artists here clearly had ears open to the big musical changes that were taking place in New York and London in the late 70s! And while later Spanish work often had a more serious, and heavily electronic style – this early stretch is much more DIY – with a raucous feel that still shows a string influence of punk, even though many of the artists are also using a lot of electronics and noise as well.
