Nice To Meet You – Chiemi Eri 30th Anniversary
CD (Item 598792) King (Japan), 1981 — Condition: New Copy
A really back to basics set from Japanese vocalist Chiemi Eri – recorded in the early 80s, but with a sound that reminds us a lot of her sides from the 60s! Backing is by the Sharps & Flats group of Nobuo Hara, and there's a relatively traditional swing to most tunes – although the overall recording style shows some traces of the time of the session through its clarity and composure – and one or two numbers bring in a bit of modern rhythms. Eri sings mostly in English throughout, and titles include "My Funny Valentine", "Whatta We Gonna Do About It", "Again", "Moanin", and "Misty".
