Hit Parade -- A Tribute To London Nite

Add Item to Want List
LP (Item 497850) 2009 -- Condition: New Copy

Man, Akiko always knows how to keep things interesting -- always moving between different genres and styles, to serve up a fresh new groove with each release! This set's got the singer hitting a host of British rock tunes, mostly from the 80s -- doing them with a harder edge than you might expect from her other albums -- some of the heavier modes picked up on her R&B tribute, but a lot sharper overall! There's less jazz in the mix than before, replaced by guitars that fit these tunes well -- and there's almost a new wave feel to the record at points. Titles include versions of "Breakaway", "Should I Stay Or Should I Go", "Sugar Baby Love", "Video Killed The Radio Star", "99 Red Balloons", "Wake Up Boo", "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me", and "Goody Two Shoes".  © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
