It's been quite some time since we last heard from Goapele – but damn if she doesn't sound even more soulful than ever! This album's well worth the weight, and it's a great reminder that the lady's a soul singer first and foremost – with talents that go far deeper than some of the more mainstream modes in which she's been adopted. There's a beautifully laidback, almost subtle approach to the record – one that really lets the vocals flow forth strongly – in ways that have us almost forgetting there's any other sounds on the set!
