Timeless jazzy sounds from Danish groovers Povo – who have a way of making classic club jazz & soul influences as fresh as can be and all their own – made all the more wonderful on this set, with a revolving trio of lead vocalists that includes the legendary Andy Bey! Like their earlier efforts, Yellow Of The Sun In You is rooted in a diverse blend of acoustic jazz instrumentation from the 60s & 70s, played with a modern sensibility and sweet soul to spare. Styles range from a latenight smoky jazz vibe to more soul based style, and it's also Povo's most vocals focused album to date! Singers include Copenhagen-based soul singer Temu Bacot, chanteuse Saidah Baba Talibah and the great Andy Bey – singing and scatting as beautifully as he has in years. Titles include Andy Bey's "Celestial Blues", "Try To Use This Argument On Your Bank Manager", "Instead Of Being Bold About It" and "Pretentious" all sung by Bey, "The Yellow Of The Sun In You" and "In The Morning" sung by Saidah Baba Talibah (Bey's niece and a lovely, soulful singer), a really cool and totally unique pair of jazzy soul covers – Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" and Can's "She Brings The Rain – plus "What Not To Do" and "Modern Man", all sung with charismatic soul by Temu Bacot.
