Mystic Merlin runnin' at Sixty Thrills A Minute! It's a sweet ride, too, piloted by one of the best of the funky soul groups on Capitol. This one! As you might guess from the title, the record's got a bit more uptempo stuff than on their earlier album, and the band works incredibly well in this mode – moving briskly, but smoothly – and locked into unshakably solid grooves! Includes a couple of standouts tracks in "Goddess Of The Boogie" and "Haunting You (Crystal Ball)" – but the whole record is really nice! Other titles include" "Sixty Thrills A Minute", Sign Of the Times", "Monkey Love", "Hideaway", and "Get It For Yourself".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

A well-done set from Barbara Mason – one that's light years from her earlier soul work, and which takes her strongly into more mature territory! Arista, 1977. Very Good
The second album by this legendary 70s funk combo – best known as Herbie Hancock's backing band, but sounding great here on their own. The album's much more of a solid soul effort than the first one – which was great, but felt more like Herbie had stepped out of the studio for a minute ... LP, Vinyl record album
