One of the lesser known John Barry soundtracks, to one of the lesser known Bond films – but a nice one! The record has a beautiful easy quality that's a bit different from some of Barry's other work, and which allies it a bit more with the Sound Gallery/Sound Spectrum sound of the late 60s. The vocal cut's sung by Louis Armstrong – but we love the sweeping strings and harpsichord of tracks like "Ski Chase", "Main Theme", and "Journey To Blofeld's Hideaway". A killer soundtrack from jazzy Johnny Keating – a set that we'd rank right up there with his other non-film work of the 60s! The score's got a bold, edgey sort of quality – one that shows a real maturation in Keating's music since the earlier part of the decade – but still that ... LP, Vinyl record album
