North Beach
CD (Item 464820) D&D, Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
Great live work from pianist Vince Guaraldi – a post-Fantasy, post-Warner session that's appearing here for the first time ever! Vince is in very comfortable territory here – the North Beach scene in San Francisco, where he first rose to fame at the start of the 60s, and continued to play before warmly appreciative audiences for years. Tracks here are longer than on some of Vince's Fantasy albums – and showcase a great sense of rhythm – that trademark Guaraldi groove that was as lyrical as it was toe-tappingly captivating. Vince plays both piano and harpsichord, and bass is by Peter Marshall or Seward McCain, drums by Al Coster or Jerry Granelli, and guitar by Eddie Duran. Titles include two takes of "Cast Your Fate To The Wind", plus "It Was A Very Good Year", "Masked Marvel", "Your Song", "Autumn Leaves", "Lucifer's Lady", and "Linus & Lucy". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
