Keith Barrow's first album of secular soul – a soaring set of vocals that really shows off his gospel roots! The record's produced by Bobby Eli with a bit of a Philly soul touch, but in ways that go quite past the conventional modes of the time – kind of offbeat at points, with a richness in sound that really matches Barrow's vocal range! Keith is one of those singers who's very confident in his style – working lines over and over, and driving a tune into a nice sort of frenzy – even at some mellow moments. We like these mellow moments best – as they have a great sort of focus – and titles include the underground groover "I Put The Twinkle In Your Eye", which has a hook you'll be singing for days, plus the cuts "A World Of Loney People", "Didn't You Know You'd Have to Cry Sometime", "Precious", "Mr Magic Man", and "Questions". (Promo pressing – with promo track list sticker on front. Cover has a gold promo stamp on back.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

These guys are still pretty darn great at this point – and the album's an updating of their uptempo funky club sound, one that still retains a lot of the best elements of earlier efforts. Horn arrangements are very strong, handled by Carlos Ward with a nice touch of jazz – and the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Some of the warmest Memphis soul ever recorded – a really classic set from The Ovations, done in a style that's really unique! Rotary Connection
Cadet, 1967. Very Good
One of the best Rotary Connection albums for Cadet – with an incredible baroque spacey soul sound that still feels very fresh today!
