One of our favorite albums ever from Cameo – the group's third release! The album's got a great approach that hints at more sophisticated soul styles, but which is still firmly in charge of the bass-driven grooves that made their early albums so great – a compressed approach to the music that was copied by countless other groups at the time, but rarely came off this well! The whole thing's great – filled with excellent cuts that include "I'll Be With You", "Give Love a Chance", "Ugly Ego", "Two of Us", "Friend to Me", "Insane", and "I Want You". Super-dope – with loads of great jams! (Cover has some wear and a mark from sticker removal.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All Night Long
Chocolate City, 1982. Very Good+
Starpoint's getting a bit loose and free with their fashions on the cover of this one – but the grooves themselves are tighter than ever! If anything, Starpoint seems to be a lot more confident than before – working in a mode that's completely free from late 70s trends, but which also ... LP, Vinyl record album

Midnight Desire
Chocolate City, 1980. Sealed
A sweet, smooth stepper from the great Randy Brown – and a record that's got the same sublime mix of mellow grooves and earthy vocals that you might find on some of Tyrone Davis' best late 70s work for Columbia! Tunes are all plenty darn fresh – written by the team of Homer Banks and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Black Magic
H&L, 1977. Sealed
A funkier set than the first one by The Softones – and a record that has the group picking up a bit more confidence in their groove! Education Of Sonny Carson – Original Soundtrack
Paramount, 1974. Very Good
A really wonderful soundtrack, with a mixture of great mellow soul songs with vocals by Leon Ware, and some jazzier tunes that have a much more spacious and sophisticated approach than the usual soundtrack of this type! That doesn't mean that the tracks aren't funky, though – because there's ... LP, Vinyl record album

Inner City – Original Broadway Cast
RCA, 1972. Near Mint- Gatefold
An obscure post-Hair musical based around the soulful side of life in the inner city – featuring performers that include some of RCA's lesser-known soul acts of the time, like Delores Hall, Linda Hopkins, and Carl Hall. Tracks were written by Helen Miller and Eve Merriam – in kind of a ... LP, Vinyl record album

West Coast Jazz In Hi Fi
Hi Fi, 1959. Very Good
A hard-swinging session that's much hipper than you might guess from the "hi fi" or "west coast" in the title – recorded with none of the cliches that both tags might make you think – and instead a well-crafted set of solos from the mighty Richie Kamuca! Back in the ... LP, Vinyl record album
