The first album from Steely Dan, and already a leading light in the world of 70s rock! The album's got a bit less of the polish of later years, but is still filled with gems – the kind of tunes that nobody ever seemed to pen before, and which few other groups could match later – despite the countless legions who tried! There's less jazz too, but the guitars are all nice and strong – that sharp Skunk Baxter edge that helped get the group firmly onto the charts right away.
