Breezy bossa by Stefano Tirone – aka S-Tone – done in the best style of recent work on the Schema label! Stefano's really grown a lot in his work since his first album – and Luz Y Sombra really delivers on the promise of a host of recent singles, and serves up some beautiful tunes that are as soaring as they are soulful! Most tracks feature lead vocals – sung by Laura Fedele and an assortment of other singers, both male and female – all set to wonderfully skipping rhythms delivered in a mostly acoustic setting. Instrumentation includes percussion, acoustic guitar, piano, vibes, flute, and even some added strings – and throughout the set, Stefano's giving the whole record some very nice Nicola Conte-esque touches on the rhythms.
