Here's Love
CD (Item 585847) Argo/Universal (Japan), 1963 — Condition: New Copy
A jazz version of Meredith Wilson's score to Here's Love – one of those musicals that actually seems to survive more in the ranks of jazz history than Broadway history – thanks to recordings like this, which pumped up the score a bit! The groove is nicely soulful – very much like other work on Argo Records at the time – and Hank Jones leads a group that includes Kenny Burrell on guitar, Milt Hinton on bass, and Elvin Jones on drums – all well matched players who really bring a lot to the date. Titles include "My Wish", "Dear Mister Santa Claus", "That Man Over There", "Arm In Arm", and "My State My Kansas My Home". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
