Beat Frauleins – Female Pop In Germany 1964 to 1968Various
CD (Item 592305) Bureau B (Germany), Mid 60s — Condition: New Copy
Great grooves from the German scene of the 60s – a sweet range of jaunty, funky, and groovy songs by a variety of different female singers – every bit as great as similar 60s work from France or the UK! There's a great sense of overall production going on here – way more than just the singers and their voices, with bouncy arrangements that would groove with just about anyone handling vocals – and totally sweet production that always puts an extra "punch" in the mix, often with use of echo or other cool effects! And given that we hardly know this German work at all – at least in comparison to 60s French or British pop – the set's especially fresh to us, and true testament to the great work they're doing over at the Bureau B label – coming up with a set that grooves as much as the classic In Kraut series. Titles include "Darauf Fall Ich Nicht Rein" by Dorthe, "The Beat Goes On" by Inga, "Was Hab Ich Getan" by Anita Weibel, "Er Is Wider Da" by Marion, "Das Gluck Dieser Welt" by Joy & The Hit Kids, "Da Beisst Ein Goldfisch An" by Brigitt, and "Einsamer Boy" by Wencke Myhre. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
