The Way I Feel

LP (Item 8298) Dot, Late 60s — Condition: Used

LP, Vinyl record album

4.50 38

Groovy groovy stuff from Mr. Spock! This album features some surprisingly great covers of 60s material – like "Sunny", "Where It's At", and "Both Sides Now". But the real highlights are the originals by Nimoy – one dark and spooky, one surprisingly unselfconsciously pop – and the tracks are titled "Consilium" and "Please Don't Try To Change My Mind". Nice mod 60s cover, too. Beam us up! (Sealed 60s pressing!)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Mellow, magical, and moody – a sublime set from the great Jack Sheldon – working both as a vocalist and jazz trumpeter! Dot, Late 60s. Very Good+
Anita Kerr was a hugely successful arranger during the 60s Nashville scene – but even better was her work at the head of her tight vocal quartet, an amazing ensemble that had a sound similar to other groovy groups like The Free Design or The Singers Unlimited. Moonlight & Shadows
Dot, 1957. Very Good+
Dreamy vocal work from Bonnie Guitar – a singer with a bit of a country tinge, but a jazzy feel as well! The album's got a laidback and mellow feel that fits perfectly with the title – moonlight, with just a hint of shadow – a blue undercurrent that comes from Bonnie's nice deep-t ... Although the Anita Kerr singers were not often the swinginest group in town, this LP has them doing a nice selection of Bacharach material, including "What's New Pussycat?", "Are You There (with Another Girl)", and "Windows of the World". LP, Vinyl record album

Silk & Soul
RCA, 1967. Very Good+
One of Nina's first for RCA – a mixture of jazz and soul tunes handled with some classy arrangements by Sammy Lowe, most of which feature nice electric bass work at the bottom by Gene Taylor! Taylor's bass gives the tracks a nice "dip" that's not exactly funky, but does provide a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Maybe the best work we've ever heard from Joe Derise – an overlooked male vocalist from the 50s, and one of our favorite of the generation!
