Father Music, Mother Dance

Add Item to Want List
LP (Item 6073) Impulse, 1974 — Condition: Used

Funky and soulful spirit13ual work from Michael White, and a better set of grooves than you'll find on most of his other records. The set's got a good electric vibe, with a production style that differs from most other Impulse recordings, and which sounds more like it belongs on a Roy Ayers recording from the time. White's violin is fairly restrained, and used more for rhythm than for out soloing. Cuts include "Father Music, Mother Dance", "Commin' From", and "Water Children. Nice stuff, and one that you might overlook if you're not careful. (Cover has some light wear on the edges, and bits of two old stickers.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
