We're never really sure what to call Lighthouse. Are they "folk rock"? "Rock"? Or just plain groovy? Whatever the case, though, this is the album that includes their great cut "One Fine Morning". In case you don't know it, it's got a great funky riff that starts out the groove, then drums kick in with a nice hard fast junglist sound, and then brass and vocals come in at a triple tempo, for a strident jazzy dancefloor groove that lasts about 6 and a half minutes. It's a great cut, and tougher to find than you'd expect! Other tracks include "Love Of A Woman", "Old Man", "1849", "Hat's Off", "Sweet Lullabye", "Show Me The Way", "Sing, Sing, Sing", and "Step Out On The Sea". (Cover has some wear, and a split on the top seam.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Great smooth soul from Wee Gee – a wonderful little record from the dawn of the 80s! The album's a great one, thanks largely to Vernon Bullock, who wrote, arranged, and produced with that uptempo modern style that he brought to his best work of the 70s. The soaring title track is a 10+ ... LP, Vinyl record album

Oh Girl
Atlantic, 1972. Very Good-
Wicked electric funk from Young Holt Unlimited – and a real departure from the sound of their 60s albums, and a step into a groove that's very 70s-styled overall! The album's heavy on Fender Rhodes – played not just by group member Ken Chaney, but also by a young Bobby Lyle – ... LP, Vinyl record album
