Other Village Vanguard Tapes
LP (Item 11233) Impulse, 1961/1977 — Condition: Used
Excellent 2LP set that brings together material that was recorded during 'Trane's first live recording session at the Village Vanguard in 1961. If you know the historic Vanguard LP, then you know how great this stuff is, and you especially know that Dolphy joins in on most of the tracks on alto and bass clarinet. The band is excellent, and is agumented on one track by Ahmed Abdul-Malik's oud playing. The set includes "India", "Greensleeves", "Spiritual", "Untitled Original", and "Chasin' The Trane" – all done in nice long long takes! (Cover has a Sound Purchase sticker, some wear, and an unglued bottom seam.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
