Funky Latin psychedelic soul from Perez Prado from the dawn of the 70s – a totally killer batch that we love from the opening note the last second – and a rare one, to boot! 70 has loads of walloping Latin funk instrumentals, incredibly groovy bits and strains of the psychedelia of the time in the swirling organ and guitar. It's never predictable, taking stylistic left turns into mellower and trippier bits, only to return to the tightly snapping funkier sound. It's a really amazing little record, largely instrumental with a couple of vocal tunes, call & response shouts and soul grunts – with titles that include "Simplemente Maria", "Traces", "Guada Guadaloupe", "Vuelveme A Querer", "Mexico 70", "Los Dos Laredos", "La Octavia Religion", "Fanny Bump","Mambo Bump" and more. (Comes a great little LP style sleeve!)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

An insanely wonderful bit of Latin funk! The groove is super heavy, and falls somewhere in between NuYorican soul and Chicano Power rock – with a sound that's pretty close to Black Sugar, but a little bit more psychedelic, due to the heavy guitars and keyboards in the grooves. Hard congas ... CD

One of the greatest new albums from this legendary conga player! Although Francisco Aquabella is probably best known to Dusty Groove customers for his 70's funk classic "Hitting Hard", or his work with the group Malo – in recent years, he's emerged as quite an important player on ... CD

Quite possibly the greatest album ever from California congolero Johnny Blas – a set that also has him returning to saxophone in addition to percussion, and which comes off with some of his sharpest grooves ever! There's a definite lean towards the jazzier side of the spectrum here – ... CD

Top Soul indeed, as Fusion is a hip Chilean funk band from the early 70s – one who take plenty of influence from American grooves, but also bring in their own soulful elements as well! The sound here is somewhere between Kool & The Gang and Banda Black Rio – with quite a bit of the ... CD
