Un Autunno A Parigi (Autumn In Paris)
CD (Item 376017) Modern Jazz/Arision (UK), 1970 -- Condition: New Copy
The kind of an album that proves why Marco Di Marco is one of our favorite pianists ever -- a sublime Paris session from 1970, recorded in an expansively expressive style! Di Marco has a way of penning tunes and handling the keys that's like few other players we can think of -- a post-Bill Evans sense of freedom and grace, but one that's also always inflected by a strong sense of soul -- one that keeps Marco's work from just being flights of fancy, and always directs the tunes with some sense of a groove, however subtle. As with some of his best trio sides, he's working here with the rhythm team of Jacky Sampson and Charles Saudrais -- both borrowed from the trio of Georges Arvanitas, but giving the record a round, warm tone that they hardly ever brought to any of Georges' records! Tracks are all originals, and include "Fontainebleau", "Un Autunno A Parigi", "Le Chat Qui Peche", "Valse Pour Quatre Amis", and "Boul Mich". © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | ||||||
