LP (Item 512946) Musica Paradiso (Jamaica), Late 70s — Condition: New Copy

Late 70s clubby soul grooves with some Carribbean flavors from Risco Connection – an album full of the nice midtempo dancefloor club soul grooves we've always loved on the handful of 12-inch singles we've heard over the years! The group specialized in remakes of the hits of the day, with nice and dubby rhythms at the bottom, and some sweet moogy touches on the top! There are male and female lead vocals from track to track, including Otis Gayle, who manages to replicate Billy Stewart's unique style nicely on "Sitting In The Park" – but who also brings along a deeper sort of groove to this track and other numbers. Lorna Brooks sings lead on one track and there are other sweetly soulful female voices throughout. The original numbers are more dub inspired. "Risco Music" is a great one – bubbling over with these cool moogy touches that have a really wonderful P&P vibe! Other tracks include "It's My House", "I'm Caught Up", "Good Times", "Bringing Out The Sunshine", "One More Time" and more.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
