Interlude/Rapture

CD (Item 598040) Disques Cinemusique (Canada), 2008 — Condition: New Copy

New recordings of two under-represented soundtracks from composer Georges Delerue – presented by arranger Robert Lafond, in a spirit that really lives up to the original film music! Rapture is a beautifully sensitive piece of work – that careful blend of melody and drama that Delerue did so well back in the 60s, captured by Lafond with orchestrations that really fit the spirit of the music – never too contemporary in their presentation, and often with the right haunting aspects to really awaken the best elements of tunes like "The Seashore", "The Asylum", "Two Dances", and "The Rapture Suite". Interlude is a soundtrack that originally mixed Delerue's music with classical compositions – but here, the sounds of Georges stand forth nicely on their own – presented by Robert Lafond with rich orchestrations that really sparkle with depth and power! The title tune is recreated in a vocal version by Lina Boudreau – and other tunes include "Must It Happen Once To Everyone", "Bittersweet Interlude", "The Interlude Triangle", and "The Interlude Suite".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
