CD (Item 592992) Capitol (Japan), Mid 50s — Condition: New Copy

A real classic from Jackie Gleason – and a record that's probably the most outward statement of his big reputation as a booze hound! The set's got all the sadness and melancholy you'd expect from the title – a wonderfully dreamy batch of instrumental tunes that are about as lush as lush can be (and there's us, dropping another reference to Gleason's personal life!) The record's virtually the blueprint for mood music in the mid 50s – and titles include "The Song Is Ended", "I Got It Bad And That Ain't Good", "Once In A While", "Time On My Hands", "My Ideal", "I Remember You", "It Could Happen To You", "I Can't Get Started" and "I'll Be Seeing You".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
