GG Vikey – Chantre De La Negritude Et Sa Guitare Africaine

Add Item to Want List
CD (Item 612793) Rotel, 1980 — Condition: New Copy

Spare sounds from GG Vikey – an artist with roots in Dahomey, and a style that stretches back to embrace even deeper sounds from the African continent! Most tracks here just feature Vikey on vocals and acoustic guitar – but in folksy ways that are a nice change from the more bluesy sounds that you're likely to hear from his generation – a style that almost shows some odd European influence in the way the tunes are phrased, as well as some traces of Cuban elements amidst the spare highlife modes. Titles include "Davi", "Nostalgie Africaine", "Viva L'Afrique", "No Ahue", "Vikey Est Mort", "La Fete Au Village", "Gentelmen Vikey", and "Je Vous Remercie".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
