GG-CJB – George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band
LP (Item 65353) Kenwood (Japan), 1981 — Condition: Used
It's the early 80s – but George's big band is still grooving like it's the funky 70s! The feel here is very much in keeping with Gruntz MPS work – long tracks with a mix of electric and acoustic playing, handled by top-notch soloists that include Joe Farrell, Tom Harrell, Jiggs Whigham, Alan Skidmore, and Jasper Van'T Hof, who plays some Fender Rhodes on the set! Titles include a version of Farrell's "Moon Germs", plus "The Tango", "Straight No Chaser/Gruntsmophere", and "Stan & Ollie". (Includes insert, too!) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
