CD (Item 10511) Counterpoint (UK), 1970s/1980s -- Condition: New Copy
Brit club jazz guru Russ Dewbury compiled this massive set of jazzy grooves with a focus on breezy tracks with a spiritual vibe. There's 11 tracks in all, and they include "It's You" by Joyce Cooling, "Times Are Gettin' Hard" by David Nunez, "Freedom Time" by Linda Tillery, "Descarga-Yema Ya" by Clare Fischer, and "In the Name of Love", an unreleased track by Kenny Rankin. The sound on this has a sort of west coast 70's jazzy vibe, and sounds a lot like the Viva Brasil LP, or some of the tracks on the London Jazz Classics LPs. Great stuff, and with a sound that's very different than our usual funky comps.
