Faithful Man (main, bare bones version)
7-inch (Item 633287) Truth & Soul, 2012 — Condition: New Copy
The title track to the sublime late career treasure by Lee Fields and his Expressions – which happens to be one of the greatest songs he's ever recorded, in our opinion – plus a vital, stripped-down version on the flip! "Faithful Man" packs in just about everything we love most about Lee's Truth & Soul recordings into about a 4 minute package. It's got a perfect, southern soul-tinged funky arrangement with killer horns, backing up Lee's achingly soulful lead vocals and female backup. Speaking of vocals – the flipside is stripped to the barest of essentials – little more than chugging guitar groove and acoustic bass – with vocal accompaniment by classic doo-wop group The Del-Larks. Amazing! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
