Burrell Brothers Present The Nu Groove Years 1988 to 1992
CD (Item 600104) Rush Hour (Netherlands), Late 80s/Early 90s — Condition: New Copy
A much-needed look at the mighty Burrell Brothers – Rheji and Ronald – two artists who really helped refine the sound of club music in the 90s! At a time when others were falling for cheesy gimmicks and tinny computerized sounds, Rheji and Ronnie had a completely different groove – one that was both a respect for the core keyboard and bassline sounds of the fusion generation, and a key precursor of some of the jazzier, more cosmic music to come – particularly grooves from the London scene at the end of the 21st Century! There was always something about a Burrell project that set it apart – even from the usually-great work on the Nu Groove label of the time – both a depth in performance, and a sense of subtlety that always made their singles stand out to our dusties-trained ears. This set offers a great retrospective of Burrell Brothers sounds – titles include "Song Of The Siren" by Aphrodisiac, "Angel Of Mercy" by Metro, "The Answer (X2 RB mix)" by Equation, "Your Love" by Aphrodisiac, "Straphanger" by Metro, "Brownstone Express" by Metro, "Feel The Love (sex mix)" by Tech Trax Inc, "Disco Tech (Studio 54 mix)" by KATO, "Apt 2A" by NY House N Authority, "I'll Say A Prayer 4 U" by Equation, "Apt 3B" by NY House N Authority, "How Do U Luv A Black Woman" by House Negros, and "Dyckman House" by NY House N Authority. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
