The second and best album by Morphine – rightly remembered as a much needed antidote to the grunge and mainstream alternative rock that was taking over pop culture at the time – and an enduring, ageless classic that would stand out in any era! Morphine's previous album was nearly as great, but Cure For Pain is nearly perfect. Mark Sandman's 2-string slide bass sound is indeed perfectly paired with his own vocals, the sax and drums doing the rest of the work instrumentally – there was only a couple years in which they'd really surprise us sonically with this setup, but what an amazing couple of years – and albums! Includes "Dawna", "Buena", "I'm Free Now", "All Wrong", "Candy", In Spite Of Me", "Thursday", "Cure For Pain", "Sheila", "Let's Take A Trip Together".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

That Rongeng Sound
Left Ear, 1977. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
The coolest sounds we've ever heard from Leong Lau – every bit as weird and wild as his previous music, but a bit more funky too – in a really great way that gives a sharp focus to his offbeat energy! The album begins with some great funky drums and keyboards – snapping with some ... LP, Vinyl record album

Light In The Attic, Late 70s/Early 80s. New Copy Gatefold
Rare work from the team of Donnie & Joe Emerson – first brought to light on their obscure outsider album Dreamin Wild – and here featured in a host of previously unreleased tracks! Modern Classics, 1983. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
Early 80s underground rock from 80s punk genre blenders Big Boys – a band that would go from furious hardcore blasts, to horn heavy punk funk from one track to the next – and sometimes in the same track! There was really no one exactly like the Big Boys back then, and they trailblazed ... LP, Vinyl record album

Monster Planet (180 gram pressing)
Dual Planet (Australia), 1975. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
A totally great little record that really lives up to the image on the cover – home-crafted sounds with a very sci-fi sort of feel – all cool and spare and moogy, with an approach that's almost like some private pressing take on the electronics of the 70s German scene! The record's an ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bearsville/Light In The Attic, 1972. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
A near-perfect classic from the greatly under-appreciated Bobby Charles – a cat with who worked for Chess Records as far back as the 50s, but also managed to deliver this soul-drenched swamp rock gem in 1972! Bobby's got this great sense of delivery – a bit laidback and almost laconic, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Separate Oceans
Numero, Mid 70s. New Copy 2 LPs Gatefold
Really great work from Ned Doheny – an overlooked talent on the LA scene of the 70s – one who had the tightest, smoothest touches of the best of the AOR generation – but a surprising undercurrent of soul as well! Ned's got that unique blend we find in a rare few artists from the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Numero, 1970s. New Copy 2LP Gatefold
A really tremendous batch of dark-themed tunes from the American underground of the 70s – a treasure trove of under-discovered acts who were all inspired by the deeper brooding of the Led Zep and Black Sabbath generation! Unlike later manifestations from the indie scene, the work here isn't ... LP, Vinyl record album

The second triple strength set of classic and rare Unwound from our friends at Numero! One of the most monumental debuts in rock history! Led Zeppelin pretty much took over rock right from the beginning – which isn't too surprising, given that Jimmy Page had an in-demand guitar heavy for years already – but this one is astonishing to this day. Godlike work from the legendary Nick Drake – and exactly the kind of record that's made him a continuing legend over the years! Raw, rumbling outsider psych from Stephen David Heitkotter – a wild and raucous stream of rambling genius from the early 70s!
