A slinky set of organ jazz & soul by The Filthy Six for Acid Jazz – modern combo with a profound love for and mastery of mid-to-late 60s funky organ combos – as sly as can be The Fox! This is a group that knows what they want and what they can do – delivering vintage style, though modern relevance. The originals are great for showing the group's skill at a number of classic Hammond organ styles, be it jazzy or funky – and there's a couple of cool covers, including adaptations of Off The Wall and J5 era Michael Jackson – Girlfriend" featuring guest vocalist Brendan Reilly plus "Never Can Say Goodbye". Other tracks Include "Midnight Boogaloo", "Down Frenchmen Street", "Prattle In Seattle", "The Rum Diary", "Getting Better", "The Fox", "Jukebox" and "Get Down". 12 tracks on the CD version.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Ubiquity, 2013. New Copy
A really wonderful collaboration between Shawn Lee and Adrian Quesada – and a set that maybe goes further than a lot of recent work from the artists on their own! Quesada's ear for the psychedelic mixes wonderfully with Lee's funky grooves – in a space that's as trippy as it is soulful ... CD

Keep On Boppin (Netherlands), 2008. New Copy

13 Degrees Of Reality
Now Again/Stones Throw, 2013. New Copy
If this is reality, lead us onward – as the set is a mindblowing batch of trippy psych-funk from The Heliocentrics – even more offbeat and experimental than before, in ways that make the combo the true heirs to the legacy first begun by Stark Reality! The album's definitely funky at ... CD
Crossing
Daptone, 2012. New Copy
Sublime work from one of the coolest funky combos around – a group who aren't content to just hit the same funky styles as other outfits – and one who really stretch strongly in their pursuit of new sounds! The set's definitely funky – especially on the drums – but there's ... CD
Faithful Man
Truth & Soul, 2012. New Copy
Smoking soul from the mighty Lee Fields – and a set that really has him getting back to his roots, as well! The record's billed as a follow-up to the previous My World – but it's got a style that's much more deep soul, much more southern-tinged than that great record – a ... CD
Daptone, 2014. New Copy
Tremendous work from Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings – a set that took a bit longer to hit the racks than expected, but which really shows a richness that more than makes up for the delay! Sharon's a singer who's always been great – but she steps out strongly here with a sense of ... CD
Pool
Yellow Bird (Germany), 2012. New Copy
A group who's as playful and offbeat as their image on the cover – kind of an unusual hybrid of modes that seems to hearken back to the more creative groups of the German post-punk years, particularly some of the artists on the AtaTak label! The sound here is heavy on keyboards and ... CD
