Sideburn Sounds – 16 Freakbeat, Mod-Soul & Psych Dancers 1966 to 1972Various
LP (Item 600996) Fuzzadelic (Spain), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
Fuzzy, freaky, and just a little bit funky too – a great array of rare rocking numbers, mostly from the European scene at the end of the 60s – all sounding pretty darn wonderful together! The package offers up everything it promises in the title – and the styles here really take off nicely from the Brit freakbeat sound of the mid 60s, and the American garage scene of the same stretch – but also seem to borrow a bit of soul as well – to really infuse the rhythms with a nice sense of groove – no surprise given the French and Spanish sources of a lot of this material. Titles include "Superman" by Larry Wald, "Snob" by Mochi, "Singing & Singing" by Unidades, "Una Caverna" by I Nuovi Angeli, "Gypsy Queen" by Springwell, "No Soy Como Todos Imaginan" by Los Roberts, "Les Filles Chats" by Jose Salcy, and "Gamblin Man" by Kin Vassy. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
