An amazing organist – probably the best in Europe! Eddy Louiss is a genius – a massive player who should have been huge, but who's barely been recognized over on this side of the Atlantic, save for a bit of recording with Stan Getz. This 1972 session is a gem – one of his best records, recorded in 1972 with a small quartet that includes Kenny Clarke on drums, Jimmy Gourley on guitar, and Guy Pederson on bass. The set's got a laidback soul jazz feel – with lots of long tracks that let Gourley and Louiss meander about, while Clarke punctuates the tracks nicely with some sharp work on the drum kit.
