Sam & Dave
CD (Item 482751) Roulette/Collectors Choice, 1960s — Condition: New Copy
Some very tasty work from one of the greatest soul duos ever – pre-Stax recordings from the duo of Sam Moore and Dave Prater, pulled together as a full Roulette album to cash in on their later 60s hits for the Memphis soul powerhouse! Despite that earlier status, though, the tracks are all pretty darn great – recorded with a raw soul sound that's hard and deep all the way through, with lots of emphasis on the vocals – which are brilliant, and even a bit less restrained than their work at Stax – with a tuff soul edge that shows that the pair were great, even before they hooked up with Isaac Hayes and David Porter! Tracks include "It Feels So Nice", "It Was So Nice While It Lasted", "Keep A Walkin", "If She'll Still Have Me", "You Ain't No Big Thing Baby", "No More Pain", and "I Found Out". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
