West Indies FunkVarious
LP (Item 553979) Trans Air (Puerto Rico), 1970s — Condition: New Copy
Funky music from the West Indies – stripped down organ groovers, brass punctuated jams with rumbling drums and tasty guitar licks, funky steel band covers and and more from Syd Jones & The Troubadours, Dutch Rhythm, Steel & Show Band, The East Side Symphony, St Vincent's Supersould Latinaires Orchestra, Esso Trinidad Steel Band and more! Organ grooves and steel drums are common elements from track-to-track, but the groups pull of a number of funky styles, some more tropically infused than others, all of it top notch. 11 tracks in all: "Cardova" by Syd Jones & The Troubadours, "Hot Pants Road" by The East Side Symphony, a nice steel band cover of the J5's "I Want You Back" by Esso Trinidad Steel Band, "Licking Stick" by Willie Dickison & The Playboys, "Stormy" by The Guinness Cassanovas and more. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
