The hypnotic Valley Tangents from Blues Control – essentially the duo of keyboardist and percussionist Lea Cho and guitarist, synth player and tape manipulator Russ Waterhouse! They roll from timeless art rock instrumentalism that's reminiscent of early 70s pioneers – to some tape effects and other touches that are more profoundly contemporary. It's a lot more dexterously musical than a lot of the self-conciously experimental acts in the post-millenium landscape – a facet that puts Blues Control closer the originators of proggy-noisy acts than many of later revisionists. Great stuff! They get a bit of percussion assistance by Tatsuya Nakatani on "Iron Pigs", and other titles include "Love's A Rondo", "Walking Robin", "Open Air" and "Gypsum".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

The seminal Gram Parsons solo debut, and arguably his most consistant post-Burritos album.
