Heavy funk from a nearly-unknown group – The Masters Of Soul, a tremendous Texas group from the cusp of the 70s! The Masters have a super-heavy sound that's very much like the best of the Detroit funky soul acts of the late 60s – a Norman Whitfield-inspired blend of bass and righteous themes, handled in a fuzzy style that would make most of the Westbound posse weep!
